My friend Ronnie at the organ, the Middlebury College Choir singing, and all the rest of us joining in for a service modeled on the English Carol services which were established just a few months after the end of the First World War. Today, it accomplishes the same thing as it did in that sad time, bringing together the community through music, reminding us of the beauty that lies under all the mess. It made me nostalgic for what I remember as my childhood Christmases. Today, I especially thought about redemption. We have a lot of redeeming to do, and this is a good place to start.
